Lead Pastor
Pastor Ken, Lead Pastor at Harvest, was born and raised in Cayce, South Carolina, with his four brothers, by his loving parents. He graduated from Airport High School and received his BA in Elementary Education from Erskine College and an MA in Educational Administration from Furman University.
As a young boy at the age of 11, Pastor Ken walked an aisle and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior. On a New Year’s Eve when he was 20 years old, he truly gave his heart and life to the Lord and started living every day for Him.
Pastor Ken was ordained into the ministry in 1981 and served on the pastoral staff of several churches in the upstate of South Carolina, prior to taking a position on the staff at The Community Church with his pastor, Arlie Whitlow, in northern Virginia. After two years, Pastor Ken answered the call of God upon his life when he and his family returned to the midlands of SC with the vision to plant a local church.
Harvest began in August of 1989 in the Irmo area, relocated to Columbia, and then moved to its current location in Lexington in the Spring of 1996. Since moving to Lexington, Harvest has expanded its properties and ministries to include childcare and afterschool programs, a ministry to meet counseling needs, a Hispanic church, “La Cosecha,” and a growing church campus in Northeast Columbia. Harvest’s core values reflect Pastor Ken’s heart to worship God and be in His presence, to cultivate a desire for His Word, and to express love and acceptance for people with an urgency to see all come to know Him.
Pastor Ken, together with his late wife Connie, has two daughters and four grandchildren. Rebekah and her husband, Andy, reside with their two children in Lexington, KY. Ruth, her husband Brooks, and their two children live in Lexington, SC. Pastor Ken and his wife Sally reside in West Columbia and enjoy healthy eating, outdoor sports, and spending time together. Their desire is to create a church for all people, and they would love the opportunity to meet you personally.
